The bike sheds offer a comforting scale for we mere mortals to address.
The system within which the bike sheds operate are surely natural and inevitable.
To suggest otherwise is to assume that there are people out there with the potential to design or engineer large scale systems such as nuclear power plants or to define a constitution or a tax code.
I'm joking of course though that does seem to be the natural conclusion of these zealots. And many such zealots will follow up with the notion that everything should be brought down to the city state or municipality. I'm not sure how such people imagine that the internet or computers would be produced under such conditions.
Anyway, great food for thought as always and I am eagerly awaiting the episodes when you turn towards systemic solutions.
